Trans-Siberian Orchestra – Beethoven

Last week I went to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra perform.  I think I can summarize their concert in a few words… Awesome… unexpected… Excellent.  They performed last Thursday in Knoxville, Tennessee which is only about an hour and a half from me.

We had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in Knoxville, Sunspot (it is on the strip near campus and is always good and fast).  I had a delicious Jerk Ahi Tuna Salad (I had been craving one for weeks, so I was, needless to say, a very happy girl after dinner).  After we finished dinner we headed to see the performance.

View of Knoxville from the parking deck at the concert. Please excuse yours truly's finger that snuck its way into the pic. Professional camera woman, I am not!

Upon arriving at the venue, we quickly made our way to our seats, which were on the arena floor and had a great view!  Everyone was seated early and ready for the performance of “Beethoven’s Last Night”.

Waiting for the concert to start...everyone is getting excited!

Mom & me before the show!

Now, if you have heard classical music and you are wondering what is the big deal about Trans Siberian?  Um… the big deal would be that they are AWESOME!  Also, they have a rock opera style.  They take the traditional, add a heavy dose of rock & roll, mix well, toss in an abundance of amazing talent, and voila, an amazing group is born!  The guitarists were amazing, the pianist was completely awesome, the violinist was stunning (and his high kicks would make a Rockette jealous), the vocalists humbling and the drummer, well he did what drummers do best… be awesome and cool simultaneously!

The amazing lights and flames that they had going throughout the show... yes... lasers and flames... you read that right!!!

This group continues to wow me every time I hear and see them.  Tickets are not the cheapest tickets you can get, but they are worth every hard-earned-penny.  These ladies and gentlemen put on a show that is worth your time and energy.  I hope that you will take the time to go and see them soon.

Until We Meet Again,

JCP
