Well a week ago, a group of my good girl-friends and I got together for a girls weekend in the mountains… First, when I say mountains, I mean Gatlinburg, Tennessee, which is always a fun time.
Well, my friend Jenn and I arrived on Thursday and had dinner at one of our favorite Italian restaurants. To say we gorged ourselves would be an understatement of epic proportions. After eating our weight in some of the best lasagna I’ve ever had…seriously… ever… we rolled back to the condo and proceeded to gossip (what else would girls do when left alone?) or as I call it… caring and sharing.
Friday had us up and about at the crack of 10 (definitely enjoyed sleeping in) and we had pancakes and all the other goodies that you normally reserve for the weekends. Jenn and I went shopping for a bit and then made our way back to the condo to wait for the other girls. I left for my run and upon my return, Beth & Caroline had arrived. Stephanie got into town a few moments later. We cared and shared for a while and then proceeded to dinner (because we hadn’t eaten enough already) at a local brewery… we were going to wait for the music to come on, but they weren’t starting until like 11:30 or so… and we all were getting tired of sitting there for several hours. We went back to the condo, enjoyed some wine and some more gossip!
Saturday morning had us sleeping in… again… and heading to get pancakes and go shopping (pretty much Friday… rinse and repeat!). We then came back and had margaritas and Mexican at No Way Jose’s one of my favorite places in Gatlinburg. After a late lunch we quickly decided that it was nap time and then… time for dinner (again, since we had not had ANYTHING to eat all weekend and were famished). We went to Park Grill and had their amazing Salad Bar… if you have never had it, I would highly recommend it… amazing! We went back to the condo and relaxed for a bit and called it a night.
Every year I have girls weekends with my friends and each year I remember why I am so thankful for my friends. I am so blessed to have amazing and wonderful friends who will go with me on fun getaways and who enjoy being silly together and doing fun things… I always come back from these trips rejuvenated and full of excitement for the next girls trip… I’m thinking Las Vegas might need to be the next trip?
Until We Meet Again,
